Higher Arts School attached to Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg.
Pupil of Ilya Repin and Piotr Chystiakov.
Since 1900 he has participated in Art Exhibitions.

A Head of the Secondary Art School in Kharkov, Ukrain (1912-1919).
Professor of painting in Ilya Repin Institute (1934-1941)
and Vera Mukhina Institute (1949-1955).
His pupils were the famous artists Alexander Deineka,
Alexander Lactionov, Yuri Neprintsev, Alexander Gritzay, Piotr Belousov,
Nikolai Timkov, Mikhail Kozell, Alexey Mozhaev.
