Lubimov Alexander Mikhailovich
(1879-1955)
Alexander Mikhailovich Lubimov was born February 25, 1879 in the village of Paltsevo, Kursk
Province, Russian Empire.
In 1895-1901 Alexander Lubimov studied in Central
Technical Drawing School in Saint Petersburg.
In 1909 Alexander Lubimov graduated
from Higher Arts School attached to Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint
Petersburg.
He studied of Ilya Repin and Piotr Chystiakov.
Since 1900, Alexander Lubimov has participated
in Art Exhibitions.
He painted portraits, genre paintings, landscapes,
sketches from the life.
Alexander Lubimov worked
as painter, graphic artist, illustrator, and satirical black-and-white artist.
His personal exhibitions were in 1949 in Leningrad, and in 1998 in Saint
Petersburg.
In years 1912-1919, Alexander
Lubimov was a Head of the Secondary Art School
in Kharkov, Ukrain.
Alexander Lubimov was
a member of the
Leningrad Union of Artists since 1932.
In years 1934-1941, Alexander Lubimov taught in the Repin Institute of Arts,
professor of painting.
In 1949-1955, Alexander Lubimov taught in the Higher School of Art and Industry named after Vera Mukhina, professor
of painting.
His students were well-known Russian painter
Alexander Deyneka, Alexander Laktionov, Yuri
Neprintsev, Alexander Gritzay, Piotr Belousov,
Nikolai Timkov, Mikhail Kozell, Alexey
Mozhaev.
Alexander Mikhailovich Lubimov died in Leningrad in 1955.

Yakov Andreevich Lukash was born in 1909 in the
